Looking back at the events of 30 years ago ones memory of events will differ to
those of another who shared the same experience. No two people will have the same
recall of events at this remove and I ask the reader to bear this in mind when reading
this record of the early years of the 1st Kilkenny Group.
I offer this account of my memories of the founding of the Group and its formative years
from my perspective as its first Group Leader and later Assistant Group Leader.
Having never served as a Leader in any one section of the Group I hope that I have given
a fair overview of the growth of the Group.
